LEADERSHIP FOR DISTRICT 11
WE ARE COMMITTED TO ADVOCATING FOR YOUR INTERESTS AND DRIVING REAL CHANGE IN THE STATE CAPITOL.
Daniel Miller
House of Delegates District 11
I’m running because I believe West Virginians deserve leaders who will listen to their communities and fight for working families. Together, we can bring the voices of everyday people to the Capitol and build a West Virginia where families feel heard, supported, and proud to call this state home.

My Values and Stances
Educational Attainment
I believe that all students in the state of West Virginia deserve a full, well-rounded education. This means support for schools so that best practices can be implemented and school staff feel supported and equipped to prepare future generations.
We should also make it our mission to promote access to secondary education, ranging from college to trade schools. We cannot forget our farmers, agriculture is what feeds and clothes people.
Diversified Job Market
A state with a wide variety of different jobs brings in a wide variety of different people. It not only grows our state to have good-paying jobs in many fields, but it also allows us to retain more of our youth who would normally leave the state to find work.
I believe we should use our fertile lands to grow crops and create textiles. We have the ability to tap into our natural resources without harming our backyard.
Protecting our Land
Wild and Wonderful is not just a saying that lets people know we are talking about West Virginia. It is an ideology for how we should keep our state. I believe it is important that we take care of the land that takes care of us. Clean drinking water, intact ecosystems, and strong regulations on corporations looking to make changes to our way of life. To be clear, I will never vote to put a data center in West Virginia.
Labor Rights and Protections
I come from a multigenerational pro-union family. My grandfather was a union rep at Johns Manville, and he made sure his children and grandchildren knew the importance of unions. I support unions and support a worker's right to unionize. No business should hinder or suppress its employees from making that decision.
I believe that our miners, who have been a pillar to who we are as West Virginians, deserve more support. Mines close and miners lose their jobs with nothing to fall back on. This cannot stand. We must make sure miners have the opportunity and access to learn new trades to continue to put food on the table.
Healthcare
Healthcare is a cornerstone of civilization. We are no exception. I see vulnerable populations that fear they cannot afford to refill their prescriptions after they run out, or that they must choose between their medication and food. If we want a healthy West Virginia, we need to make sure everyone has access to affordable healthcare.
I have witnessed, in several types of high-risk labor services, that workers are not properly cared for. It is wrong for someone who has worked so hard in dangerous environments not to have access to intensive healthcare.
Healthcare practices should be left to the patient and their provider, not dictated by government bodies that do not have the expertise in medicine and best practices.
Taxes
Taxes are necessary to fund our social services, such as the Police and Fire Departments, as well as state infrastructure and education. Everyone pays and everyone benefits. However, taxes should not break the bank.
Taxes should not push someone into poverty, they should be used to support someone who needs a hand-up out of poverty. Our taxes should be used for services we use and benefit from, and large corporations, especially those that come in to mine our resources, should be paying for that priveledge.
Community Service
If I'm going to talk the talk, I need to walk the walk. I take pride in my service as an advocate for my ideals. I'll be out there in the heat and cold to raise awareness of issues that affect our people.
This can look like a community food drive or even just helping a friend clean up stray trash in an area around his apartment.
